The previous JDS logo featured circular symbols that visually represented different aspects of the program. 

For the new logo, C+P created a cleaner, more modern design with a simplified color palette. The circles suggest a community in conversation, while subtly reflecting the six points of the Star of David. We also tightened the school name to Jewish Day School of Seattle, allowing the S to refer to both school and Seattle.

The new tagline, Inquire deeply…Engage joyously, captures the experience of learning and growing at JDS—namely, the profound joy this community finds in exploring complexity and tackling intellectual and personal challenges.

The new identity line, Jewish preschool-8 education for all who seek it, succinctly defines the school’s purpose and the population it serves. The phrase “for all who seek it” indicates that the school accepts families of all beliefs and backgrounds, positioning this specifically Jewish education as desirable and beneficial to anyone who resonates with the JDS philosophy.
