As the former head of The Children’s School in Atlanta and the founder/president of Mehta Cognition management consultancy, Nishant is known for his passion and vision in issues of leadership, culture, strategy and change management, and equity and justice. He is a sought-after writer, speaker, and presenter on inclusion, learning, and leadership in organizations and has mentored new and aspiring heads of school in partnership with NAIS. He holds an MA from Teachers College at Columbia University and a BA in philosophy from Washington University.
Nishant grew up in Mumbai, India and came to the United States as a junior in boarding school. He has lived in four countries and is fluent in several languages—and has even helped Sesame Workshop launch a pilot curriculum in elementary schools in Toda City, Japan. Now based in Atlanta, he has served on advisory boards for the Woodruff Arts Center's Alliance Theatre, the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, NAIS, NBOA, Asheville School, and the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education (CSEE).
